As I think of how I want to be remembered I think of things like...I want to have been a great wife, I want my children to know I loved them and are proud of me. As I listen to the words of this song (which has been played about 100x since I bought the CD) I realize that everything I do I truly hope is pleasing to the Lord. It's hard in this world to always do the "right thing" and to try and avoid sin, but I hope I'm learning more daily on how to do both. Ella has taught me so much about myself and even more about our Savior. There is so much joy in the eyes of a child who can't eat or sit or walk or talk...and those of us who have all of those abilities, and more, complain daily that we don't have enough. I'm working on not needing more than exactly what God has given me...and I have been SO blessed.
Enjoy the Lyrics to this song and the video if you get a chance to watch it.
Nichole Nordeman-Legacy
I don't mind if you've got something nice to say about me
And I enjoy an accolade like the rest
You could take my picture and hang it in a gallery
Of all who's who and so-n-so's that used to be the best
At such'n'such ... it wouldn't matter much
I won't lie, it feels alright to see your name in lights
We all need an 'Atta boy' or 'Atta girl'
But in the end I'd like to hang my hat on more besides
The temporary trappings of this world
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things?
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace who blessed your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy
I don't have to look too far or too long awhile
To make a lengthly list of all that I enjoy
It's an accumulating trinket and a treasure pile
Where moth and rust, thieves and such will soon enough destroy
Not well traveled, not well read, not well-to-do or well bred
Just want to hear instead, "Well Done" good and faithful one...
I want to leave a legacy
How will they remember me?
Did I choose to love?
Did I point to You enough
To make a mark on things?
I want to leave an offering
A child of mercy and grace who blessed your name unapologetically
And leave that kind of legacy
15 Month Stats
So, we were a little late in getting the 15 month appt done, but here are her stats:
Weight: 25 lbs 14 oz (85th %)
Length: 31 3/8" (75th %)
Head: 17 11/16" (25th %)
So, needless to say I think we are going on a diet...even stricter than the one we are currently on. We'll be talking to the dietitian again tomorrow. It's not a HUGE deal, they just don't want her to struggle more to meet her developmental goals and have her weight "holding her back". Let's just say that she weighs the same as a 2 year-old should weight.
Other than that they said she was in great shape. She got 2 shots and didn't make a sound...a little worrisome...she reacted, just not by screaming.

Carrying My Ghetto-blaster
Found Ella with her jam box or "ghetto-blaster" on her arm. I thought I was going to have to get the baby oil out to get her arm rolls out!! I think she has the FATEST elbow ever.
Ella's Newest Trick
We have been working on this and now she's doing it on her own...granted she only does it when I'm not ready with the camera. She pushes up on both arms making them straight with her legs underneath her. It's the next step towards crawling and with upper-arm strength. Keep praying for development!!
Dress Up
I looked over and saw this...had to take a picture of Ella "dressing up" with mom's purse. Notice in the second picture she has her hands on my wallet...smart cookie...just need to guide her to daddy's wallet!!
The reason for the Blog...
One of my friends came across my blog and e-mailed me asking why she couldn't see my personal information about me and why my blog didn't say exactly what all I was doing in my life. So I thought I would state why I started blogging.
I started blogging due to peer pressure! (Just kidding all of my blog friends).
Actually I started blogging as a way to keep my family informed of what I was doing. My family lives in different states and I am horrible at writing letters, e-mails and calling, so I thought blogging was a good compromise. If they want to view it, they can. If not, life will go on! Since most of my family is not computer happy, I decided to make my blog public so that my family wouldn't have to create a Gmail account to view the blog. This is another reason why my personal information isn't posted and will probably never be posted. I also like a little mystery. As far as work goes, I am in HR so I will not post about my job or frustrations with my job. I haven't made this blog knowledge to my co-workers, but it would be just my luck that someone came across it and found a blog where I blasted a bad day at work and then their feelings got hurt. It's just not worth it.
Another reason this blog was created was because Bryan and I were going to start trying for a family. That has been put on hold due to some health issues which I will discuss in another blog. So for all the friends who stumbled onto this blog and for any strangers who have also stumbled on it, this is why my blog is basic. Take it or leave it. It won't hurt my feelings either way!

My meme.........
I've been tagged with this meme thing, so here goes. I hope you find it interesting!
The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you’re a non-blogger, you can email them!)
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
1). I love the Ocean or the Sea (yes, there is a difference!). I feel completely at peace just sitting on a beach looking at the ocean or actually in a boat in the middle of the ocean. I can't describe how inspired I feel when I am looking out at a great body of water. Lakes do not count!
Little tip: Residents from England do not like it when you call their sea the ocean!
2). I love to be cold when I am outside. Perfect snuggle weather. Not too cold though. Fall weather cold. Let me clarify, Arkansas fall weather cold. Texas weather can be a toss up. It has to be cool enough that you can't go without a blanket, you must have a fire to roast marshmallows, and someone to snuggle up with, but not so cold that your blood begins to freeze!
This isn't Bryan I am snuggling with, but the weather was great. For me anyways.
A little colder and wetter then I normally like, but wonderful just the
same. Monica & Laura probably did not agree with me.
3). I love to procrastinate. Some of my best work/ideas have been the result of busting my buns 2 days before the due date of a project or event. No one else likes it when I procrastinate, or maybe it's me they don't like. Surprisingly, I haven't fallen flat on my face when I have waited to the last minute to get stuff done. It all just works.
4). I love animated movies. 3 of my favorite dates with Bryan was when he took me to see animated kid movies. I love them!!!
5). When I was 8 I had to have 6 "big girl" teeth and 4 "baby" teeth removed to make room in my mouth for all my teeth. Apparently my mouth wasn't big enough. I know. Shocking.
6). I have lived in Texas for 6 years now and have never been to Six Flags. I've always wanted to go, but everyone I know has already been and they don't want to go again.
7). I have been to Dollywood 5 times. Dolloywood is a theme park dedicated to Dolly Parton in Pigeon Forge, TN. I'd go back in a heartbeat if I thought enough people wanted to go.
Check out the website: http://www.dollywood.com/ It's worth it, I promise!
8). Growing up we had a dog named Jason. His registered race name was Amadara Nightwing and when he retired from racing we got him and decided to call him Jason. Go figure.
That's it. Not great, but little things about me. I hope you enjoyed them!
Tag! You're it! (If you have already been tagged then consider yourself extra loved)

"Grease" is the word
This great place in Dallas called Victory Park and they host a movie night on Tuesday nights. It's outside between N9ne Steakhouse and the WFAA studios...it's like a mini Time Square. We went out last night for our friend Eric Couch's 31st birthday party and saw Grease on the 2 HUGE screens...depending which direction you were sitting you could see it going two different directions. As you can tell, Ella started out real impressed by the event.
Joe decided to have Ella play "air-guitar" and then learn the "hand jive"...it would have been funnier on video, but you get the idea.
